Future of Working for Yourself" was published in 2001 and is

readers about the shift in the American workforce from
employee to free agent. Daniel Pink interviewed hundreds of
freelance workers to gain their perspectives on working for
themselves so readers could understand the benefits and the
disadvantages. The book covers free agents of all sorts
including temp workers, freelance soloists, and microbusiness
owners. Pink traveled across the country with his family in
tow to interview subjects for this book while he was
contributing editor to Fast Company magazine. This in-depth
work explores the shift in the workplace and examines its
predicted impact upon society.

"A Whole New Mind: Why
Right-Brainers Will Rule the Future" was published in 2006 and
is a book, audio book, and ebook. In this work, Daniel Pink
takes a look at the history of the workforce and then predicts
its future. He describes four phases: agricultural age,
industrial age, information age and conceptual age. He states
the conceptual age we are entering is when right-brained
thinkers will become global leaders in business. Right-brained
thinkers are creative individuals, inventors, storytellers,
artists, and free spirits. Pink takes a look at free agents
around the world and identifies traits that make them
successful. He then offers personal development tips for
mastering those traits in preparation for the emerging
workplace. This book was a BusinessWeek and New York Times
bestseller. It was also selected best business book of the
year by Fast Company, The Miami Herald, Strategy + Business,
and 800-CEO-READ. Daniel Pink uses this book to speak to the
management movement of allowing innovation and creativity to
blossom in the workplace.

Bunko: The Last Career Guide You'll Ever Need"
was published
in 2008 and is available as a book and ebook. This is an
instructional comic book, delivered in manga format, that
offers insightful and practical advice for career seekers. It
tells the story of Johnny Bunko who is stuck in a mindless job
until one day he decides to think about his future. He then
begins to build a career rather than survive in a dead end
job. Daniel Pink presents important lessons that Bunko had to
learn that help him find, keep, and flourish in a rewarding
career. Although this is presented in comic book format, it is

"Drive"
was published in 2009 and

Francisco Chronicle, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal,

workers and students respond better to the chance to be
creative and in control of their lives. He outlines three
elements of motivation: mastery, autonomy, and purpose. He
further offers tips on how to put these elements into action
in order to improve performance at home, in school, and in the
workplace.

In addition to writing
bestselling books, Pink is also much sought after as a public

times. Many notables have presented TED Talks including Bill Gates
and Bill Clinton.
