David Hawkins is a spiritual teacher and author of personal development books on
the subject of enlightenment.
He is a psychiatrist and believes in muscle testing to discern
truth of a situation (applied kinesiology). He has also
developed a method of calibrating the level of spirituality of
a person or thing. His most well known work is "Power vs.
Force."
Background of David Hawkins
David Hawkins was born in 1927. He
remembers having a sudden awareness of his existence at age three. He had other
transformative events during his childhood that led him on a spiritual path.
For
example, when he was 12 he was caught in a blizzard, and when trapped in a snow
bank, he became oblivious of his physical body and connected with his
illuminated Presence. As a result of this experience he lost his fear of death
and worked as a minesweeper without fear during WWII. After the war, Hawkins
entered medical school and specialized in psychiatry.
When he was 38
years old, David Hawkins contracted a fatal illness that responded poorly to
treatment. As he was dying, he called for help from God and felt the illuminated
Presence once again. This time it took over his body and Hawkins attained an
expanded state of awareness. Because of his perceptions and understandings of
reality, he became a very successful psychiatrist and built one of the largest
practices in New York. He was introduced to kinesiology, and incorporated it as
an integral part of his practice.
When David Hawkins was 48 years old, he
left New York and spent the next seven years in reclusive meditation. During
that time, he developed a deepened sense of the Presence. He became frustrated
at the pain and suffering his patients brought on themselves because of their
egos and wished he could heal people on a larger scale rather than one by one.
When he was 68, David Hawkins published his first book, "
Power vs. Force."

Power Vs. Force: The
Hidden Determinants of Human Behavior" is available as a

decisions and determine when people, things, or systems are
spiritually positive.
• "
The Eye of the I: From Which
Nothing Is Hidden" is the second book in the trilogy of
personal development books by David Hawkins. This is also
available as an ebook or traditional book. This book is an
in-depth look into spiritual consciousness. It bridges the gap
between religion and science and the ego and spirit. Although
the concepts presented in the book seem difficult to grasp,
the way they are presented make it easy for the reader to
digest and gain an expanded awareness from. Using the
calibration methods developed by David Hawkins, it was
determined that readers of this book scored a higher level of
consciousness than before being exposed to his work.

spirituality, truth, and truth calibrations. This book offers

the Ego, Realizing the Self: Contemplations from the Teachings
of David R. Hawkins, M.D., Ph.D." is another of the personal

readers pinpoint truth with great accuracy.

Hawkins" is a book that provides spiritual teachings in the
