John Maxwell was born on
February 20, 1947 in Garden City, Michigan into a religious
family with a father as a minister.
Maxwell followed in his
father's footsteps and went into the ministry. He obtained his
Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary. During
his career, John Maxwell led churches in several states
including California, Florida, Indiana, and Ohio. In addition
to leading his own church, he is a frequent guest pastor at
the famous mega church in California known as the Crystal
Cathedral. When speaking at the Crystal Cathedral, Maxwell's
message is broadcast worldwide on the Hour of Power radio
program.
In addition to his wide reach in the religious
community, John Maxwell is also internationally known as a
motivational speaker, author, and leadership expert. He
founded several organizations including ISS, INJOY, Maxium
Impact, and Equip. Through these he has trained more than five
million leaders in over 80 nations.
