One of the best ways to
correct your self esteem is to regularly complete self esteem worksheets. These
will ensure that you keep your self esteem in balance, so you don't have to do a
complete self esteem overhaul.
The 7 R's self esteem worksheet will help you
revive your self esteem and feel much more secure.
Reevaluate your
surroundings.
Your surroundings can play a very big role in your self esteem
because if you are not happy with your life, your self esteem will always feel
out of balance.
If you wish your surroundings would change, you have to take
control and change your situation.
For many of us, friendships and relationships
can either make us feel extremely accepted or rejected. While it is important to
have friends in your life, make sure that you don't get carried away and become
a people pleaser. Keep in mind that while people make like you to cater their
every need initially, they will eventually tire of your yes man attitude.
Redo your mindset.
It is imperative that you keep a positive and upbeat
mindset as you complete your self esteem worksheets. Every time negative
thoughts attempt to creep into your mind, instead of dwelling on them, ignore
them and say something positive. Even if your heart doesn't really believe your
positive affirmations, the more you say them, the quicker they will become a
reality.
You positive mindset is really the secret ingredient to overcoming low
self esteem.
Renew your interests.
Depending on how long you've been
struggling with improving your self esteem, you may have noticed that you've
neglected your interests and hobbies. It is always good to have goals in your
life because the moment you stop setting goals is the moment you start moving
backwards.
No one wants to live a partially ambitious life, so make sure you
keep your life full of goals and hobbies.
Realize that everyone is
different.
Have you ever compared yourself or your life to the lives of
others? After you finished the comparison, did you feel better or worse about
yourself?
We run into problems when we attempt to be like other people because
we forget that everyone really is supposed to be different. The more we strive
to be like someone else, the worse we will feel because their life isn't our
life.
It is ok to set goals and strive for better things in your life, but you
don't want to covet someone else's life. Everyone's lives are custom made for
them, and if we try to squeeze into their picture, we will be neglecting our own
picture.
Remember that you have self worth
What lengths will you go to
in order for people to accept you?
Instead of bowing and scraping so people will
like you, strengthen your backbone and stand up for yourself.
If people are mean
to you, don't just allow them to walk all over you. Practicing your new
assertive attitude will help you to be prepared when you have the opportunity to
speak up and stop being bullied. You have self worth, and you can't allow anyone
to tell you differently.
Review your life goals
Hopefully by now you
have written out a list of life goals, and hopefully you have been slowly but
surely accomplishing things on your list.
However, part of completing these self
esteem worksheets is keeping your goals fresh and up to date.
Allowing your life
goals to sit untouched for months and years does not help your self esteem. In
fact, it hurts your self esteem because while setting and keeping goals helps
you to build confidence, failing to keep goals shakes your confidence. It is
acceptable to restructure you list of goals, but keep moving forward and
accomplishing your goals.
Remain consistent
Now that you've learned
what you have to do in order to build a higher self esteem, you need to be
consistent.
It is so easy to say you're going to do something and never follow
through, but by doing that you are only hurting yourself in the long run.
You
don't have to try and tackle all of these points in one day, but by doing them
little by little; you will have mastered them all in a very short amount of
time.
